– Excuse me Mr. Columbus! But at school I heard that you destroyed a paradise and brought with you slavery and murder to peaceful people.

– Oh my gosh! For some accusations. The place I discovered was beautiful, but it wasn’t exactly a paradise for civilizations. And the indigenous peoples were far from peaceful.

This is how the conversation between the schoolboy Leo, who travels to the past, and the Italian explorer Christopher Columbus goes.

The video was created by the conservative media company Prager University, or PragerU. The organization got its name from one of the founders, the conservative radio host Dennis Mark Prager.

It’s not really a university. Instead, they make videos, many aimed at children. According to them, they should “promote American values”. the websites. The themes include climate, slavery, economy, energy and masculinity.

They will provide a “free alternative to the dominant left-wing ideology in culture, media and education”.

Now the videos can become part of the teaching at schools in Florida in the USA.

– Better than being killed

The video about Leo and Columbus is just one of many. Prager’s video library is massive. On Youtube they have uploaded over 2600 pieces. They have almost 1.8 billion views.
