The Teachers (Amendment) Act, which caused strikes and protests by teachers’ unions, came into effect as of yesterday.
The details of the said law, which was accepted by a majority of votes at the session of the General Assembly of the Assembly, which took place yesterday, were published in the Official Gazette.
ACTION AND STRIKE CONTINUE
On the other hand, actions and strikes against the Teachers (Amendment) Act continue. The Cyprus Turkish Teachers’ Union (KTÖS) and the Cyprus Turkish Secondary Education Teachers’ Union (KTOEÖS) held an action with broad participation in front of the Assembly yesterday.
Today, KTOEÖS continued its protest against the Teachers (Amendment) Law by going on strike in all the schools it is organized and not holding the exams.
