Some boys were abused by the man dozens of times. According to the court the man caused considerable suffering and significant psychological damage to his victims.
He took the boys to Germany
His years of professional experience as a teacher did not prevent him from ‘acting out his own sexual desires on these boys’, the judgment states. “The fact that the suspect, as he himself states, initially thought that he was pleasing them because they did not complain is astonishing.”
In addition to being a teacher and mentor, the man was also a supervisor on weekends for boys with serious behavioral problems. According to the court, he continued to build a relationship of trust with them and entered into a friendly relationship with the boys’ parents, whom he also regularly took to his holiday home in Germany.
The victims also came there regularly. “It was a paradise where everything was allowed,” said one of the victims about the house in Germany. “In this way, the suspect presented himself as a sugar daddy for whom nothing was too crazy, but for whom there was something in return,” can be read in the judgment.
Under the control
The 64-year-old man will be placed under supervision after his prison sentence. He is also not allowed to practice a profession that brings him into contact with minors for fifteen years.
