TCL CSOTA television company has unveiled its first car show at the Information Display Association in Los Angeles. The screen size is 47 inches, which makes it the largest car display in the market. While Mercedes-Benz offers a 56-inch screen on the EQS and EQE models, this actually consists of three separate screens. On the other hand, the TCL screen is one continuous panel.
TCL unveils the world’s largest ever car display
This giant car display is 1.4 meters wide and extends from one side of the car to the other. It comes with an in-cell touch sensor and responds to multiple inputs, allowing the driver and passenger to operate it at the same time.
Similarly, the car screen is curved to fit the shape of the car. It has a bore of 4200R and features a borderless integrated tool kit. It also has a control center and an infotainment system.
Not to forget, this is a small LED display with 3,000 local dimming zones, a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1, and native 8K resolution. This makes it the highest resolution screen in the automotive industry.
TCL car display is also a cost-effective choice for automakers. Simple single assembly makes installation a more affordable option than many monitors. But there is one potential drawback to the TCL monitor: redundancy. When automakers replace the instrument cluster with an integrated screen, there is a risk that the screen will fail. This is a concern raised by some experts. The latest evidence of this is the recall of VinFast vehicles in the US due to a blank screen.
TCL CSOT has not yet announced which automakers have committed to installing the display in their cars. However, the company is confident that the monitor will be a popular choice for automakers due to its large size, high resolution, and advanced features.
