(kun). The women of TC Bad Vilbel II lost the top game against TC Bad Homburg at the start of the season in the tennis league in Hessen. Against the champion of 2021, the Brunnenstadt women had to admit defeat on their own facility with 3: 6.

Women (6 players), Group 1, TC Bad Vilbel II – TC Bad Homburg 3:6: “Of course it’s a shame that we lost our opening game. However, it is premature to draw any conclusions from this with regard to the further course of the season«, TCBV team leader Masha Vietmeier clarifies. »The game plan was very unfortunate. The fact that the champion and runner-up of the previous season meet on the first day of the season is suboptimal in my opinion.«

In the individual games, the Bad Vilbel team leader, in fifth place, met Lili Minich, a former player from TC Rot-Weiss Bad Nauheim. Just like Antonia Pfeiffer and Finja Mahl, Vietmeier had to admit defeat in two sets. Julia Terziyska as Bad Vilbel’s number also lost out on the top position against her Bad Homburg opponent. Vivian Wolff, on the other hand, had just as little trouble with her opponent as Luisa Hrda, who confidently prevailed in two sets in her duel against the second former Bad Nauheimer in the Taunusstadt team, Pauline Greta Bruns.

Despite the disadvantage of the 2:4 deficit after the individual, the Brunnenstadt women did not give up hope of something countable. “Last season we were often able to turn a deficit with three doubles wins. Unfortunately, we didn’t manage to do that this time,” Vietmeier admitted. Although Terziyska and Hrda kept the upper hand in their game, the match losses of the TCBV pairings Wolff/Pfeiffer and Vietmeier/Mahl sealed the defeat at the beginning.

In shorthand: Individual: Julia Terziyska – Kathleen Kanev 3:6, 4:6; Vivian Wolff – Hannah Nagel 6: 1, 6: 3; Luisa Hrda – Pauline Greta Bruns 6: 1, 6: 0; Antonia Pfeiffer – Gina Feistel 1: 6, 2: 6; Masha Vietmeier – Lili Minich 2:6, 4:6; Finja Mahl – Alexandra Bezmenov 4: 6, 1: 6. – Doubles: Terziyska/Hrda – Nagel/Bruns 6:2, 6:2; Wolff/Pfeiffer – Kanev/Feistel 3:6, 3:6; Vietmeier/Mahl – Minich/Bezmenov 4:6, 1:6.
