An employee of the TBS clinic De Rooyse Wissel in Oostrum was immediately fired because she had a ‘non-professional relationship’ with a patient. This confirms a spokesperson for the clinic 1Limburg.
Sources tell the regional broadcaster that it was a love affair. The clinic is still investigating what exactly happened between the employee and the patient.
“Integrity is essential within our organization and non-professional relationships between employees and patients are inadmissible,” said a spokesperson for the clinic. “For that reason we said goodbye to the colleague in question. The employment contract was terminated immediately and this employee was reported to the police.”
De Rooyse Wissel has informed the Health and Youth Care Inspectorate and the Ministry of Justice and Security of the situation. Another employee of the clinic has also left because of the affair. She knew about the relationship, but did not report it. “We have tried to restore the damaged trust between this colleague and the team. This has not worked,” said the spokesman.
