The columnist asked for a consultation and security interview. The magazine reports “Focus“citing Berlin police circles.

Because the 29-year-old feels massively intimidated after numerous emails and calls, the lawyer and the editor-in-chief of “taz” should contact the Berliner on behalf of the columnist police recorded and asked for help.

“Some reactions could be classified as a direct threat to the journalist’s physical well-being,” the magazine continues.

According to information from “Focus”, officers from a police section near the “taz” offices will now take care of the security of the editorial office.

The column, published in mid-June, caused a media outcry in Berlin, made political waves and also sparked discussions within the “taz”.

In her text, the author thought about where police officers could work if the police were abolished, but not capitalism.

She came to the conclusion: “The landfill. Not as a garbage collector with keys to houses, but on the heap where they are really only surrounded by garbage” and concluded: “They are sure to feel most comfortable among their own kind.”

Federal Minister of the Interior Horst Seehofer (70) then announced a complaint against the author. There was harsh criticism from representatives of the media and politics, because they saw this as an attack on freedom of the press. Seehofer finally did not honor his threat (TAG24 reported).
