tayyar.org – Foods that improve brain function

Dr. Yelena Solomatina, a Russian nutritionist, declared that antioxidants, vitamin B and omega-3 unsaturated fatty acids improve brain function.

And the unsaturated omega-3 fatty acids, according to her, have a special effect on brain activity.

And she says: “These acids protect the nerve impulses necessary for full human activity. They also reduce inflammation and make the blood more liquid. When there are atherosclerotic plaques and high or low blood pressure, they help the blood pass through the blood vessels and stop the formation of clots.”

She adds, these acids are found in fatty fish, walnuts and flaxseed oil. And that vitamin B12 is important for brain functioning. This vitamin is found in meat and liver. The antioxidants rutin, quercetin, rivinatrose, and polyphenols are also essential for brain functioning.

She says, “These substances protect brain cells from damage and preserve vitamin C, which prolongs the effectiveness of antioxidants and prevents their oxidation.”

According to her, to make up for the lack of antioxidants, pomegranate and blueberry fruits can be eaten. You should also take vitamin D, dietary fiber, and magnesium, which is found in good proportions in carrots, spinach, and meat. Vitamin D is found in cod liver, fatty fish and eggs.

She says, “It is enough to eat a spoonful of liver to get the body’s daily need of the vitamin.”

And she adds: Dietary fiber is found in all types of vegetables, but she pointed to garlic in particular.

She says: “Garlic has an anti-inflammatory effect similar to that of aspirin. Garlic improves blood circulation and prevents the adhesion of plaques to the walls of blood vessels and the formation of clots, and also reduces inflammation of blood vessels.”
