Taylor Swift has with The Eras Tour set a new record. With a worldwide gross of 128 million dollars, it was the best opening of a concert film ever. The record stood with Never Say Never from 2011 in the name of Justin Bieber.

The Eras Tour is a recording of the concert series with which Swift is now touring the world. It is remarkable that the film can already be seen, because the singer will be traveling around the world with her concerts for at least another year. All performances are already sold out.

The film was shown in about 8,500 theaters in about a hundred countries on Friday. The film can be seen in Pathé theaters in the Netherlands. It is not clear how many tickets have been sold in the Netherlands. Pathé was not immediately available for comment on Monday.

Swift will be in the Johan Cruijff ArenA in Amsterdam for three evenings in the summer of 2024 with her tour. These concerts were sold out immediately. The cinema registration was recorded in Los Angeles, where Swift concluded the American leg of her tour. She can be seen in Brazil later this year. The singer will tour in Europe from May.

Presales of the concert film also caused a rush for tickets in the US. Major studios have moved their film releases to mid-October, because they suspect that their films would otherwise suffer from Swift’s popularity.
