Taylor Swift makes a foray into the cinema

The American singer is currently showing in cinemas in France for her filmed concert Taylor Swift : The Eras Tour whose tickets are selling like hotcakes in the United States and France. If she seems more popular than ever, it could well be that the global star will still be talked about in some time.

This is what revealed Variety in 2022 while the singer of Love Story had just finished writing his screenplay for the production company Searchlight Pictures.

But before that, Taylor Swift cut her teeth in directing with her music videos The Man et All Too Well : The Short Film which earned her the award for Best Direction at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2020 and 2021. In her latest music video, the singer directed director Shawn Levy (Real Steel, Free Guy). The future director of Deadpool 3 never stopped complimenting her in the columns ofEntertainment Weekly : according to him, Taylor Swift has “ the makings of a hell of a director ».

Shawn Levy goes even further by comparing her to one of the greatest directors in cinema: “ Spielberg was on the set of a movie he produced and I directed called Real Steel, and I said to him, ‘How do you know this is the right shot?’ His response was: ‘The way you look at it is what makes it a good plan.’ I feel like this is something Taylor Swift understands really well because it’s all about trusting your instincts », punctuates the director.
