The music documentary, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, received a rating of 100% from 52 international critics, and 99% from more than 1,000 certified viewers, through the Rotten Tomatoes website.
This is after the new documentary film about the international singer Taylor SwiftTaylor Swift: The Eras Tour, the biggest opening for a concert film in history, as the work, which premiered in the United Kingdom on October 13, documents the six shows that Swift completed at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles earlier this year, The performances included a career-spanning setlist that lifted songs from her 10 albums from “Fearless” to “Midnights.”
The New York Times reported that the film grossed an estimated $126 million in theaters worldwide, including $95 million from theaters in North America alone.
The remaining $31 million came from The Eras Tour’s international shows, which took place in more than 90 countries and territories.
Swift’s documentary surpasses Justin Bieber’s “Never Say Never,” which grossed $41 million in North America during its opening weekend in 2011, and Bieber’s film ended its run with a total gross of $138 million worldwide.
Swift’s concert film was first announced last August, and was released in Canadian and North American theaters one day earlier than expected on October 12. Beyoncé made a surprise appearance at the premiere of The Eras Tour in Los Angeles last week.
The Eras Tour is directed by Sam Wrench, who has directed music documentaries for the likes of Billie Eilish, Mumford & Sons and Blur.
