Fans have been complaining for days about problems buying tickets for the new tour. But now sales have come to a complete halt due to the “extremely high load on ticket sites,” Ticketmaster explains. According to the company, there are also “insufficient tickets to meet demand”.
It’s the message that many fans feared. They tried to buy tickets en masse this week, but due to the huge interest, the website crashed several times. Fans who managed to enter the digital queue sometimes had to wait up to two hours for a chance to purchase a ticket. Still others have been placed on a waiting list.
Earlier this week, Ticketmaster reported that Swift broke a record by selling a staggering 2 million tickets in one day. According to Ticketmaster, no other artist has sold so many tickets in one day. Ticketmaster has not yet announced when sales will resume.
