According to the magazine, there are 2,781 billionaires. That is 141 more than last year. Together they are worth approximately 14 trillion euros, an amount with 12 zeros!
The richest person in the world is the French Bernard Arnault, known for the fashion brands Louis Vuitton and Christian Dior. In second place is Elon Musk, the boss of Tesla, X and space company Space-X, among others. Jeff Bezos, from the online store Amazon, is in third place.
Women
Most billionaires come from the United States (813). But China is also doing well with 406 listings. The Netherlands has 14 billionaires. The richest Dutch person is Charlene de Carvalho-Heineken. She is ranked 132nd, making her one of the richest women in the world. There are far fewer women than men on the list: only 369 billionaires are women. The richest woman is Françoise Bettencourt-Meyers, from fashion brand L’Oréal. She is in fifteenth place on the list.
New
This year there are 265 newcomers on the list. The most striking is perhaps Taylor Swift. She is at number 2545, but is the first artist ever to become a billionaire with her songs and performances alone.
Another new billionaire is basketball legend and businessman Magic Johnson.
The French fashion designer Christian Louboutin is also a newcomer. He became famous for his expensive shoes with red soles.
