Taylor Swift breaks Michael Jackson’s record

Taylor Swift became the first solo artist in history to play Wembley Stadium eight times in one tour, breaking the previous record held by Michael Jackson for his Bad Tour in 1988.

The Billion Dollar Eras Tour will take Swift fans on a tour through the pop star’s back catalogue, including hits from 1989, Red, Midnights and her recent 11th studio album The Tortured Poets Department.

Swift, 34, wrapped up the European leg of her tour on Tuesday night with a performance featuring special guests, including British band Florence + the Machine.

It was Swift’s eighth concert at Wembley this summer, surpassing the record for any solo singer, previously set by Jackson when he played seven shows at the London Stadium as part of his 123-show BAD world tour.

“You made me the first solo artist to play at Wembley eight times in one tour. We will never be able to thank you enough for that,” Swift told fans on Tuesday.
