Since October 21, 2020 and until December 31, 2020, small and medium-sized entrepreneurs as well as self-employed persons and freelancers can apply for grants for fixed operational costs as bridging aid II for the months of September to December 2020. They don’t have to be repaid. The Federal Association of Taxi and Car Rental eV points this out.
As with Bridging Aid I, the application must be submitted through a tax advisor, auditor, sworn accountant or lawyer. However, some conditions have changed. Applicants must now either demonstrate a drop in sales of at least 50 percent in two contiguous months between April and August 2020 compared to the respective months of the previous year or an average drop in sales of at least 30 percent between April and August 2020 compared to the same period of the previous year.
The previous cap of 9,000 and 15,000 euros has been removed. The subsidy is already paid in the event of a somewhat lower drop in sales. For example, 90 percent of the fixed costs are already available from a drop in sales of 70 instead of 80 percent and 60 percent of the fixed costs when sales drop between 50 and 70 percent. The subsidy of 40 percent of the fixed costs is available from a 30 percent drop in sales and not only from a 40 percent drop in sales. The flat rate for personnel costs of 10 percent of the eligible costs will be increased to 20 percent.
According to the Federal Taxi Association, the federal government is committed to extending the aid beyond the turn of the year. The association finds Bridging Aid II to be welcomed, but the new program does not sufficiently affect taxi and rental car companies. Your high personnel costs, insurance premiums and vehicle financing costs would still not be adequately taken into account.
The application platform for the extended “Bridging Aid for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises” is on the website www.ueberbrueckungshilfe-unternehmen.de to find. There you will not only find the application, but also a lot of preliminary information that is important for the application.
