Lhe municipality of Middelkerke has decided to abolish its additional personal income tax (IPP) from 2024 but to tax its second residents more, report La Libre Belgique and La Dernier Heure on Friday.
The tax thus goes from 600 euros for property other than a studio to 800 euros, to which 50 euros of environmental tax are added.

The persons concerned had already known this for a year, but the increase was not effective until last June, when the warning extracted from the roll was sent.
About a hundred second residents have already taken steps with the Antaxius law firm, which has therefore launched three “class actions” related to this issue.
At the end of 2018, the coast had 97,599 second homes.
