But one of the companies, managed by the footballer’s partner, Georgina Rodríguez, would be in trouble in Spain: it is the clinic specialized in alopecia and hair transplant.

The Tax Agency opened a file against the clinic for possible tax evasion: they would have issued invoices without VAT, the newspaper reported The confidential.

According to Spanish tax law, “medical services of diagnosis, prevention, treatment and cure” do not pay VAT and the investigation seeks to determine whether between 2019 and 2021 Cristiano’s company avoided disbursing what it was entitled to.

Transplants performed for “purely aesthetic” purposes must pay 21% VAT. This is where the authorities seek to define whether there were treatments that were reported as a disease, but were actually aesthetic.

Cristiano’s company reported that its lawyers are in charge of the matter and that they complied with all current laws.
