The tax-free sale on school supplies for the 2023-2024 school year in Florida begins Monday, July 24, and runs through Sunday, August 6.
A second waiver period will begin on Monday, January 1, 2024, and run through Sunday, January 1 to January 14, 2024.
During those days, the following qualified back-to-school items are exempt from sales tax:
Clothing, footwear and certain accessories that sell for $100 or less per item. Certain school supplies sell for $50 or less per item. The first $1,500 of the sales price of personal computers and certain computer-related accessories, when purchased for non-commercial personal or household use. Allowable school supplies include: folders, calculators, colored pencils, crayons, pens, construction paper, lunch boxes, notebook paper, glue, paste, poster paper, rulers, and scissors.
