At the beginning of the summer, the ethno music group Tautumeitas offers listeners its latest song “Mežā”, which was made in collaboration with Swedish producer Povell Olson. Along with the new composition, “Tautumeitas” also presents a video for this song.
“Mežā” is the first single from the band “Tautumeitas”, which was made in collaboration with Swedish producer Povell Olson (he has also worked with “Brainstorm”), but not the last. “As a result of mutually successful cooperation, the group has developed a new sound, which has inspired” Tautumeitas “to visual changes as well,” informs the group’s PR camp. It must be said that the girls’ fervent fans could also be “on a break” – both the visual image and the song are very bold, but, as you can see from the first reviews on the YouTube website, not all of these changes have come to heart. The viewer would like to announce this electronic song, because “Tautumeitas” have taken a step forward – how long can you sit at an absolutely and only folklorized sound ?! A very interesting piece has been surrendered, and the girls themselves look effective.
“The song tells the story of a forest girl who has found herself in a confusing city, but clearly knows that she has to get back to nature,” says Asnate Rancāne, the leader of Tautumeitu, the author of the song and the director of the clip. The theme of the video is somewhat in line with the motifs of the game “Hunger Games”, where “Folk Girls” or forest girls have woken up in the ruins of the city after an incomprehensible event, and they have only one task: to meet and run back to where they are safe – to the forest. ” In the video, the singers are dressed in futuristically impressive costumes created by fashion designer Romija Stahtale, which gives an unusual and “dreadlocks” look, but when they enter the forest, “Tautumeitas” are again dressed in the favorite costumes of Ilze Tigule and Alise Ķīnasta, as well as artists.
