In the “Tautasdziesma” concert program, cellist Inga Ozola, pianist Madars Kalniņš, bassist Andris Grunte and percussionist Artis Orubs will perform together with the jubilee. Liene Jakovljeva, a musicologist, will conduct the concert and talk with the musicians.

Ilona Bagele is a soloist of the Latvian National Opera and one of the most sought-after concert artists in Latvia with extensive experience in academic, jazz and popular music. Ilona Bagele is also an associate professor at Daugavpils University, as well as a vocal consultant for Daugavpils theater musical performances. In 2003, the singer joined the soloist ensemble of the Latvian National Opera. Her extensive list of roles includes such roles as Mercedes (“Carmen”), Ulrika (“Masquerade Ball”), Nanny (“Eugene Onegin”), Marceline (“The Marriage of Figaro”), Sorceress (“The Mermaid”), Erda (“Rhines gold”), Princess Clarice (“Love for Three Oranges”), Countess (“Lady of Spades”), Flora (“Traviata”), Pig Gebgeb (“Bird Opera”), Madalene (“Rigoletto”), Martha (“Faust “), Louzma (“Turaidas Roze”) and many others. As a soloist, she has participated in several concert programs of maestro Raimonds Paul. She has performed at the Riga Opera Festival, the Cēsu Music Festival, the Inese Galante International Festival “Summertime”, the events of the major project “Riga 2014 Capital of Culture”, festivals in Poland, Belarus, Finland, Estonia and elsewhere.
Cellist Inga Ozola is the concertmaster of the cello group of the Latvian National Opera Orchestra and received the “Aldaris” JSC Annual Award 1999 and the “Latvijas Gāze Annual Award for Opera 2008/2009” as the best orchestral artist. In 2018, as one of the participants, she received the Grand Music Award for participating in the “Born in Latvia” concert of the year. In 2022, she received critical acclaim for her solo cello performance at the Belvedere and Operalia young vocalist competitions and won the Grand Music Prize for outstanding work in an ensemble. As a soloist, she often participates in various chamber music projects and CD recordings, played cello solo in the CD recordings of opera singers Samson Izjumov and Andreas Bauer Kanabas. She has performed in Lithuania, Estonia, the Czech Republic, Finland, Denmark, Canada, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
Pianists Madars Kalniņš received his professional education at Jāzepa Vītola’s State Conservatory of Latvia (currently – Latvian Academy of Music), graduating from the piano class in 1989. He received a professional master’s degree in jazz piano playing at the Jāzepa Vītola Latvian Academy of Music in 2011. Since 2003, he has been working as a pedagogue at the Riga Cathedral Choir School and since 2009 – JVLMA. Teaches jazz piano, theory, arrangement and composition. Since 1986, he has participated in many concerts (also outside Latvia) and sound recordings together with Raimonds Raubiško, Gunārs Rozenbergs, Latvian Radio Big Band, Denis Paškevičs, Nikos Gothams, Inga Bēržina, Ieva Kerēvica, Inga Pētersonas, Intar Busulis, Raimonds Ozola, “Mirage jazz orchestra” u.c.
Double bassist Andris Grunte (1969) is one of the most sought-after jazz musicians in Latvia – he plays both double bass and electric bass guitar. His cooperation partners include almost all Latvian jazz musicians, including many folk music groups. He has worked in the jazz quintet of Māras Briežkalns, in the jazz quartet of Laura Amantova, “Riga Jazz Quartet”, in the groups “Brothers and Sisters”, “Zarbugans”, accompanied young musicians many times in the “Riga Jazz Stage” competition. Nominated for the “Golden Microphone” music recording of the year award in the “Jazz or funk music album” category.
Percussionist Orubs art is the concertmaster of the rhythm group in the Latvian Radio big band. Since 2011 – teacher of percussion instruments and ensembles in the Jazz Department of the Jāzeps Vītolas Academy of Music of Latvia; collaborated with more than 180 singers and bands; participated in 93 album recordings in Latvia and outside its borders. Everyone wants Arti Oruba in his composition: he has been seen playing with Ainaras Mielavas, Raimonds Tigula, Kaspars Dimiteras, regularly apart from the aforementioned Jura Kaukulis collective, also with the musical association “Raxtu raxti”, in a duet with the French film director of Arab origin living in Latvia, cellist and pianist Sig.
