Taufik Hidayat’s curt is asked about the Indonesian Men’s Singles Now

Taufik Hidayat seems not excited when talking about the potential of Indonesian badminton men’s singles today. Taufik gave a curt answer!

Taufik Hidayat is a guest star on The Badminton Experience podcast. This is the podcast of the Danish badminton duo, Anders Antonsen and Hans-Kristian Solberg Vittinghus, whose guest stars are the world’s top badminton players.

Antonsen and Hans are certainly curious about the view Taufik Hidayat about the potential and development of today’s men’s badminton single players. No doubt, Taufik is one of the best men’s singles Indonesia has ever had and has won many titles including the 2004 Olympics.

“How do you see Indonesian men’s singles players now. It seems that there are many differences (main style) from Ginting, Jonathan, Vito?” asked Antonsen.

“Tsk… I don’t know,” replied Taufik curtly.

Taufik Hidayat explained, it seems that Indonesia’s men’s singles are still far from the highest level. Take for example Anthony Sinisuka Ginting for example, which is now the best men’s singles can be conquered by Viktor Axelsen easily.

“I saw Ginting against Viktor Axelsen, Axelsen seems to only play 60 percent. Axelsen already knows how Ginting plays, it’s a pity to see it,” he explained.
