Tatum contributes key triples; Celtics overtake Bucks

Jayson Tatum hit a 3-point lead in the final second, and the Boston Celtics escaped with a 122-121 win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday in what was the team’s first meeting this season.

Giannis Antetokounmpo missed a free throw that would have tied the duel with 0.4 seconds remaining.

Tatum scored 30 points and Jaylen Brown had 33 for Boston, which started the fourth quarter with a 17-point lead. The Celtics trailed 120-119 with 8.9 seconds left.

Tatum then spent a few seconds dribbling before taking his pumped shot off Antetokounmpo from the left side. The ball skimmed the glass before entering the basket.

The next serve was thrown towards the basket and Antetokounmpo tried to push it to score, but was fouled. The Greek, named the NBA’s Most Valuable Player in the previous two seasons, hit the first free throw but missed the second.

Antetokounmpo scored 32 points, including 18 in the fourth period. Khris Middleton had 27 points and 14 rebounds for Milwaukee.
