Tatum bounces back, Celtics crush Miami Heat to tie East Finals | nba

The news that Marcus Smart, the best defender of the year, was banned for Game 4 came minutes before the ball went up. But the Boston Celtics fans didn’t even have time to worry. On Monday night, in Boston, the team ran over the Miami Heat 29-11 in the first quarter. They won 102-82 and tied the Eastern Conference Finals 2-2. Jayson Tatum, who had scored 10 points in Game 3, responded with 31.

The Heat, who did not have Tyler Herro with groin pain, missed their first 14 shots of the game. The 11 points scored was the worst mark in franchise history in a period in the playoffs. It was enough for the Celtics to open 22 points, a difference that reached 32 in the third quarter. Both coaches then gave their key players a break, already focusing on Game 5, Wednesday at 9:30 pm in Miami.

The Celtics didn’t have to work hard to secure the win. Jayson Tatum scored 31 points, with 8 rebounds and 5 assists, and no other player went over 14 (Payton Pritchard). Smart was vetoed with ankle problems, but has a chance of returning next Wednesday. The series is now best-of-three, with Game 6 in Boston and a possible Game 7 in Florida.
