Falun also arrived with the newly announced best player in the floorball world, Emil Johansson, but he was short on coach Milan Fridrich’s team. At the same time, the Czech club played in the final of the Champions Cup after thirteen years, the last time it was also Střešovice in 2011.
“I’m gradually starting to realize what we’ve accomplished. Right now, immediately after the match, I feel a mixture of euphoria and partly fatigue. I’ve had that game on my mind a lot for the last week. There are years behind it, during which the boys have put in a lot of effort, and it is a very sweet reward for us,” enjoyed coach Fridrich, who was a participant in the finals in 2013 as a player.
Tatran sent Matěj Havlas into the lead with a quick shot, which excited the spectators even more in the packed UNYP Arena for 1450 spectators. However, after the tickets went on sale within a few minutes, the dust was gone.

Marek Beneš is jubilant, he just led Tatran to victory at the Champions Cup.
Tatran’s great goalkeeper Tomáš Jurco chose the only unlucky moment when he hit his own teammate with a kick, which Emil Ruud used by comparison.
“It’s true that I had some great saves, but I also made one big mistake, which is a shame. I’m glad that the boys managed it, I didn’t sink them,” said Jurco, who was declared the most valuable player of Tatran in the final, after the match with relief.
Even before the break, Swedish gunner Alexander Galante Carlström turned the score around when the home team’s Martin Kisugite was dismissed.
In the second part, it became more intense, the players of Tatran tried to finish their offensive actions, which Falun did not like. However, the power-plays remained unused, the home team’s hopes were kept alive by the alert Jurco, and two minutes before the end of the middle part, Martin Šindelář equalized with a spot-kick.
The leader of the domestic super league continued to create chances until, in the 50th minute, Ondřej Sádlo made his mark with a shot from behind the defender. During the power play, Marko Beneš managed to get a two-goal difference for the first time and the favorite was visibly taken aback.

Jurco matured over Emil Nilsson, especially when he didn’t get his way even from a free kick. When Beneš set up a goal shot for Tomáš Hanák, things looked very promising with Tatran leading 5:2. Galante Carlström made the match even more dramatic, but Havlas’ prompt lob confirmed the Strěšovice triumph and the guests only reduced the score in the end.
