The Indian automobile company Tata has developed a new electric drive crossover Punch.ev, which is attractive mainly because of the price.
Punch.ev is a compact SUV that will be available in Standard and Long Range versions, providing a range of up to 315-421 km. The former is equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor developing 60 kW of power and 114 Nm of torque and a 25 kWh battery, while the Long Range version gets a 90 kW (190 Nm) permanent magnet synchronous motor and a larger 35 kWh battery. There are two Wallbox devices for charging, which provide charging with 3.2 kW and 7.2 kW (surcharge). Built on the new acti.ev platform, Punch.ev also supports fast charging with a power of up to 150 kW.
The Tata Punch.ev is also equipped with a host of electronic assistance systems such as 360-degree cameras, blind spot warning system and six airbags for all passengers, while the options list includes a glass sunroof, powerful audio system, diode headlights, Harmann-designed infotainment and an entertainment system with a 17.78-inch screen, and much more.
The Tata Punch.ev is already available for order in the Indian and North African markets, with prices starting at €12,000 (converted at exchange rates). It is not yet known whether the attractive Tata electric car could appear in Europe as well.
