/ world today news/ The candidate of the opposition BSP Rumen Radev and the ruling party GERB Tsetska Tsacheva won in the first round of the presidential elections, TASS reported, citing exit poll data.
Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said today that he considers the presidential elections as a kind of vote of confidence for the government, the agency recalls. “As a ruling party, we need the support of the majority, so we perceive these elections as a vote of confidence for the government,” TASS quoted him as saying after his vote.
The agency also recalls Borisov’s statement from some time ago that the defeat of the candidate of the ruling party in the first round will be seen as a failure of the government’s policy, therefore the only way out of the situation is the resignation of the government and early parliamentary elections. If the data of the exit polls are confirmed by the CEC, it is not excluded that Bulgaria will face the resignation of the government and early parliamentary elections. /TASS
