Sonos has so far chosen to stay away from the market for cheap soundbar speakers, but now reports The Verge that the company is about to launch a smaller, simpler soundbar that will cost $ 250 in the US.
According to the information, the speaker has the internal code name “Fury” and the model designation S36. The Verge has also obtained drawings and has produced 3D renderings that show it and the set of speaker elements – six or eight as it looks. In terms of size, it is narrower than Beam but about the same thickness.
On the technology front, the site writes that it will be much easier than the big siblings. Among other things, it lacks hdmi connectors and only has an optical audio connector for direct connection, but can be included in a speaker set with other Sonos speakers.
Sonos expects that many customers who already have an Arc will get “Fury” for a more surround experience, and it therefore has mounts to place it vertically on a wall.
