Tasks: Battlefield 2042 could be Free-To-Play

Spelindustri insiders Tom Henderson writes via Twitter that EA will apparently be very disappointed with how Battlefield 2042 performed.

As a result, the publisher looks at “all possible options”, which also includes letting the game switch to a so-called “Free-To-Play” model to some extent.

EA themselves have not commented on it all.

Battlefield 2042 was released in November 2021 and the game’s high expectations clashed with a shaky launch filled with bugs that made both reviewers and players very critical.
