Task Force Raids KKB Armory, PNS Yahukimo Arrested

He explained that the raid was carried out after his party received information from the public regarding the existence of a red-plate official truck belonging to the Regional Government which was suspected of supplying the cargo.

From the examination of the ASN, the police later found the presence of another house which was suspected as a hiding place for a number of weapons evidence.

“The ASN of the Yahukimo Regency Government with the initials ES is also known to store 5.56 ammunition and magazines,” he said.

He detailed that the police confiscated a number of evidences, such as 26 rounds of 5.6 mm ammunition and 8 other rounds of 38 mm caliber. Then, a number of M-16 type rifle magazines.

Then, the Task Force also secured a striped suit belonging to KNPB and Noken. Then, there are also some sharp weapons such as machetes, axes, sickles, badik, bayonet to arrows.

In addition, he said, on August 27, the Task Force also arrested a sub-district head or district head with the initials EB in connection with his involvement with the KKB.

“EB, and 15 other people who are suspected of being sympathizers of the KNPB and KKB in the Yahukimo region,” he explained.

For information, KKB is the name of the Indonesian government for militant groups that are factions of the Free Papua Organization (OPM).
