Some residents of Tarn woke up under the snow this Friday January 14, 2022. The weather forecast had not yet mentioned white gold in its bulletins. And it was in the plain, while in the vicinity of Lacaune, the sky remained blue and without flakes. What happened ?
It is simply a industrial snow. As we can see on this video broadcast on the page of Autan/Tramontana and Great South-West wind.
“It’s absolutely not pollution, it’s a phenomenon that occurs when the fog is very present and severe frosts as is the case this morning (-4°c to -6°c )”, explains his side Tarn weather.
“The humidity that can saturate this mass of low-level air and manage to give snow”, completes the site, before summarizing: “It’s a bit the same principle of the snow cannon, but with us in plain”.
In Castres and Gaillac
Internet users had a field day, broadcasting several images of the phenomenon on social networks.
This snow fell in certain sectors of Castres, but also in Gaillac.
“The sun should finally dissipate these fogs over the whole of the department by this afternoon”, warned Tarn Météo. The thin layer should not last long…
