The installation on this portion of the ring road is far from trivial. It already provides access to the A68 towards Toulouse and is located near a commercial area and the Fonlabour agricultural high school. “We are going to stay until Wednesday afternoon, explains Christopher Régis, cereal and seed farmer, president of the JA du Tarn. We are here for Fonlabour, it is the future of our young people that is at stake, the renewal of generations.”
“We’re getting naked…”
The farmers will therefore rotate to prevent the movement from running out of steam and to stay on site until tomorrow. “If there is no concrete progress, we will come back next week,” warns Christopher Régis.
“As long as we don’t get crisis aid, we won’t give up,” emphasizes Michel, a farmer in Gaillac. “We’re being stripped naked… Controls are increasing, we’re being treated like thugs. Our administrative or tax costs are increasing while the prices of our products do not follow this increase.”

At midday, the farmers decided to have a big barbecue on the ring road. The spirit is rather good-natured and the motorists who use the diversions are favorable to the actions of the farmers. “The vast majority of them support and encourage us.”
For the moment, the farmers will remain on site and are considering action at Leclerc du Séquestre on Wednesday morning.
