“The consequences will be terrible”
The Tarn-et-Garonne department will be “significantly impacted by this decision”, continues the union:
This announced closure of the night emergency department at Moissac hospital concerns the entire population and workers of Tarn-et-Garonne. Indeed, with an average of fifteen visits per night throughout the year, it is essential […] for the entire population of the Moissac, Valence d’Agen and Castelsarrasin catchment area. The consequences will be terrible for the users. […] It is the time taken to take charge of vital emergencies that will be extended by several tens of minutes, or even hours. These are users who will have to travel more than 30 kilometers to have access to emergency care.
A “health scandal”
The mayor National Gathering from Moissac, Romain Lopez, also denounces this decision to close the emergency room at night.
On social networks, the elected representative evokes a “health scandal”, which “endangers a territory of more than 85,000 inhabitants”.
