Tarn-et-Garonne: the CGT claims a power cut this Thursday morning at the Albasud commercial area in Montauban

the essential
The CGT is organizing a day of departmental action against the pension reform this Thursday, January 26. Before a torchlight procession scheduled for 6 p.m., the CGT Energie Garonne et Tarn union claimed a blackout this morning targeting the commercial and industrial area of Albasud in Montauban. Enedis condemns “a malicious act” and will file a complaint.

Between the two days of national mobilization on January 19 and 31, the unions opposed to the pension reform had warned that they would not sit idly by and could take action locally. This is what happened this Thursday morning in Montauban where activists from the CGT Energie Garonne and Tarn union demanded the cutting of part of the industrial and commercial zone of Albasud. “A targeted action on the network in the Tarn-et-Garonne” decided during a general assembly of electricians and gas workers, specifies the union in a press release.

316 customers including 13 manufacturers impacted for 1 hour

Enedis evokes “a malicious act at the Montauban source station, with two cables de-energized”. Consequence: 316 customers were deprived of electricity between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. Among them, 13 industrialists from the Albasud zone. The last customers were resupplied at 8:08 a.m., specifies Enedis, which “strongly condemns these actions on the public electricity network which in no way reflect the public service values that we defend”. The company announces that it will file a complaint.

In the morning, several members of the CGT Energie, but also CGT railway workers and MAF-Roda towed in front of the Villebourbon SNCF station and at the Europe roundabout, in Albasud.

“Our union, like all the unions of the FNME-CGT, intends to fight until the withdrawal of this reform and asks the government to hear the proposals of the trade unions. The increase in wages and therefore in contributions as well as the Equal pay between women and men are two of the CGT’s many proposals to sustain the financing of our pension system. We are already calling on all employees in the electricity and gas industries, but also on all workers, unemployed, retired, to mobilize on January 31.

Regarding this day of action on January 26 in Tarn-et-Garonne, it will be punctuated at 6 p.m. by a torchlight procession which will leave at 6 p.m. from the Esplanade des Fontaines, in the center of Montauban.
