An elderly couple were found dead this Tuesday morning in the fire of their house in Castres.
The emergency services were alerted around 5 a.m. when a fire ravaged this house located near Castres station.
In their bed
On the spot, they found a woman in her bed, on the first floor, and her husband, in his medical bed on the ground floor, both deceased.
The bodies of the two victims were not removed from the rubble for the purposes of the investigation.
Six other people, including neighbors and a firefighter bothered by the smoke, were evacuated to Castres hospital.
At 9 a.m., the fire was extinguished, allowing firefighters to secure the remains of the burnt-out house.
