Tariffs – Hanover – Today again warning strikes in the public service – Career

Hanover (dpa / lni) – In Lower Saxony, people today have to reckon with warning strikes in the wage dispute in the public service. In Hanover, day-care centers should be particularly affected, said a spokesman for the Verdi union. In addition, smaller warning strikes are planned in Hameln, Scharnebeck and at the city of Stade, the Stade Employment Agency and the Stade Sparkasse. Around 2500 people in Lower Saxony are called to temporarily stop work.

In the collective bargaining dispute in the public service, Verdi and the civil service association dbb are demanding 4.8 percent more money for the nationwide 2.3 million collective bargaining employees of the federal government and local authorities. In mid-September, the second round of negotiations remained without result.

In the parallel tariff dispute in local public transport, the spokesman announced that Wednesday would be “major battle day”. Then buses and trains should come to a standstill again. In Lower Saxony and Bremen, according to earlier information, 6,000 employees of the local transport companies in Hanover, Bremen, Braunschweig, Wolfsburg, Göttingen and Goslar are called to a warning strike. Verdi wants to enforce a nationwide collective bargaining agreement for around 87,000 public transport employees.
