Target the Top 3, Realme 7 Pro is the foundation

Jakarta (ANTARA) – The mobile phone brand from China, Realme, has set a target to occupy the top three Indonesian smartphone market by the end of this year, one of which is the launch of the Realme 7 Pro.

According to Realme Indonesia’s Marketing Director, Palson Yi, one of the reasons the Realme 7 Pro was launched this month is because October is the first month that the fourth quarter starts (Q4).

“We have a very big goal to reach the Top 3 by the end of this year for our smartphone business. So, I think Realme 7 Pro is the key driving force for our smartphone business,” said Palson, in a virtual press conference for the launch of Realme 7 Pro, Wednesday.

Palson said the Realme 7 Pro is also proof of Realme’s confidence and optimism, considering that many competitors are also “at war” at this price level, namely at the price level of around Rp.4,999 million.

Not only that, the presence of Realme 7 Pro, according to Palson, also boosted sales of the C series, because the cellphone is proof that Realme is able to present a device in this price segment.

“With 7 Pro, we are optimistic and confident of reaching the Top 3 by the end of this year,” said Palson.

So far, Palson revealed that Realme already has 7.5 million users in Indonesia, which is expected to be close to 10 million users by the end of this year.

To ensure availability, Palson said that in the first batch, Realme had provided around 50,000 Realme 7 Pro units, which are expected to meet market demand until the end of October.

“Because we will open sales on October 24, so pre-order plus one week ready stock sale. This is what we have prepared for the first batch, and we will also produce more according to market demand, “said Palson.

In general, Palson continued, the inventory of Realme devices was similar to market share conditions. For example, in Indonesia the price segment below IDR 2.4 million dominates the market share, accounting for more than 50 percent.

“So, our series of devices is not much different from market volume or market penetration. However, we have momentum for the higher price segment, where we have improved performance,” said Palson.

“This is a good signal, because people have become more confident in our brand, and they also see our brand as more premium,” he added.

Realme 7 Pro seems to be competing with the recently released Vivo V20. Both have 64MP main lenses and Snapdragon 720G with 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM, and are priced at Rp.4,999 million.

However, the Realme 7 Pro is equipped with a quad-camera system and has a bigger 4,500mAh battery, while the Vivo V20 is equipped with a 4,000mAh battery.
