“One train per hour, every day, in all stations, by 2030“is the promise made by the president of the Pays de la Loire region Christelle Morancais. The regional mobility plan, which will be voted on in the plenary session of the Regional Council on Wednesday March 31, is a new step towards this ambitious goal.
“Save small lines”
“All lines are important in terms of development and attractiveness of the territory“, assures the LR president of the region. The strengthening of the TER lines should thus make it possible, in her words, to”save little lines“.
The region also plans to develop its express lines as well as on-demand transport “in each of the territories“, specifies Christelle Morancais.
Twice as many trains between Nantes and Cholet
Symbol of this rise in rail services, the new Nantes – Clisson – Cholet line was inaugurated on Monday March 29 after two and a half years of modernization work. The number of daily connections between these two major employment pools has doubled, passing from four round trips per day to nine, and a new service allows you to get on or off at Torfou station (Maine-et-Loire).
This work cost nearly 48 million euros, 73% financed by the Pays de la Loire region.
