The general assembly of volunteer blood donors in the Hautes-Pyrénées was held in the amphitheater of the Bourse du Travail. An association that militates for this simple civic and solidarity gesture and yet in need of renewal and accompanies in particular the various collection meetings throughout the department. Also, “to reward the hours of volunteer work with donors and the cause, for the actions carried out and for this regular presence” several of these shadow activists were honored at this meeting. Thus, the president of the donors, Pierre Augier, was made an officer of the Blood Merit, just like Claude Brionne, who has accumulated more than 300 blood donations to his credit. Also honored and distinguished as Knight of Blood Merit: Claudine Lacabanne, Nicole Faroult, Marie-Hélène Bouffard, Angélique Bernissant, Janine Dupurgues, Juliette Greco, Reine Lapoutge and Régine Hamecher.
