There will be a show at the hospital center. Superheroes arrive to support hospitalized children.
Floriane and Julie are two big-hearted superheroes. Radio manipulators, at the Bigorre hospital center, they took it into their heads – with their legs and their arms – to participate at the end of the year in the Raid Amazones (sporting adventure and discovery, 100% female) to support the association “Timéo our hero” and thus help research on pediatric cancers (second cause of death among children under 15). To finance their departure to a distant destination, not yet revealed, our Bigourdane superwomen have set up solidarity actions.
This Tuesday the animation they pilot, with the support of the hospital, has the sole purpose of entertaining children.
“I had been planning to bring in superheroes for a while but I didn’t have the budget,” says Sophie Thullier, the educator of young children in the pediatrics department. Like saviors, ”Les Happyrénées” Floriane and Julie arrived with their raid project. And above all, they got to know the Montpellier association ”superheroesgrandcoeur”.
Made up of a nurse and former police officers from the GIPN (Intervention Group of the National Police), this young association has set itself the objective of “offering an enchanting parenthesis to hospitalized, sick or disabled children”.
At the origin of its creation, Christophe Hernandez found inspiration by watching a video where American police officers visited hospitalized children through the roof. With the help of former comrades, he wanted to put his past experience in elite units (for the protection of citizens) at the service of suffering children. But it was a tragic event that was triggered, admits Christophe: “in the middle of Covid, my eldest daughter gave birth to a premature child at 25 weeks and hospitalized for 7 months. During this period, I realized that life in a hospital is not easy for parents and kids”.
In May 2022, they began to attack the facades of hospitals in Hérault and Gard. The success is immediate and equal to the joy of the children. Requests are pouring in in France, and soon abroad, but on Tuesday it will be the turn of the children of Tarbes and Bigorre to have a great time.
From 1 p.m., you are all invited – parents and children – to come dressed in your most beautiful superhero costumes to attend this unique event in the region.
Gathered at the bottom of the facade of the hospital, on the garden side, with children in disguise and supervised by nursing staff, you will witness at 2 p.m. “a sensational arrival of 3 super-villains joined by 4 super-heroes who will abseil ” in optimal security conditions. Lively exchanges will follow, not the most cordial between the protagonists, at the end of which the good guys will offer a pact to the bad guys “so that they agree to go see the children in their rooms for photos”.
Like the children, you will all be invited to smile since the event will be filmed by a drone. But all that is not cinema…
