Tarasova called the decision expected. “I think all people who have a mind and who understand how the preparation for the season is built have long understood everything,” she said.
The cancellation of the World Cup was announced earlier on April 16 by the International Union of Skaters (ISU). The tournament was to be held from March 16 to 22 in Montreal, Canada. Later, the option of holding the world championship in the period from October to December of this year was considered.
Because of the coronavirus pandemic, many sporting events were canceled or rescheduled. In particular, the Olympic Games and the European Football Championship were postponed to next year.
