Finnish champion Kuopio “Palloseura” (“KuPS”) scored two goals in the penultimate game in the second half of the local championship on Thursday, as a result of which important points were lost in the fight for the title, but the duel was not completed by a Latvian football team player due to a leg injury. Tarasov was included in the team’s starting eleven, but only spent five minutes on the field. Aniekpeno Udoh scored both goals in the KuPS ranks, but Medo equalized for the guests in the 78th minute. Meanwhile, in the second minute of the compensation time, Salomo Ojala stood out, for whom they were the second goal in this match.
The Latvian footballer, who plays in the positions of defender and midfielder, signed a contract with the Finnish team last summer. After this season, he concludes a contract with KuPS, but both parties agreed in advance that the cooperation can be continued.
At the beginning of October, Tarasov scored the only goal of the Latvian national team in the match against Montenegro, which ended with a result of 1: 1.
The last round of the championship is expected on November 1.
Before the last round of the game, Helsinki HJK is in the leading position with 42 points in 20 matches, but “KuPS” is three points behind, but has played one more match.
Last year, KuPS won its sixth Finnish championship title, returning to the throne after a 43-year break.
