SURABAYA RAYA ZONE– The Directorate of Cybercrime, Bareskrim Polri reminded that mobile phone (HP) users by tapping with the application on Play Store.
Through the Cyber Crime Investigation Center (CCIC), the Criminal Investigation Police revealed that there are more than 200 applications on the internet Play Store which turns out to be tapping cellphones via Spyware Facestealer.
The spyware was infiltrated to target the account credentials (username & password) on the cellphone and other information.
Of Play Storehundreds of malicious applications disguised as photo editing applications, cameras, virtual private networks (VPNs), fitness, cryptocurrency mining, and others.

“Cyber friends, be aware that there are many applications that are infiltrated by the Facestealer spyware circulating on the internet Play Store,” wrote the @ccicpolri account on its official Instagram page, Monday 6 June 2022.
It was explained, that the spyware referred to as Facestealer it disguises embedded in over 200 different kinds of apps Android on Playstore.
“Facestealer work to siphon user credentials and other valuable information,” the CCIC continued.
According to him, Facestealer first detected in July 2021, referring to a group of fraudulent applications attacking Play Store with the aim of stealing sensitive data. Such as credentials (username and password).
