Western analysts believe that the strong cooling in Ukraine may slow down Russian troops. As a result, the occupiers will be forced to either leave their vehicles or sit in “40-ton iron freezers”. This is what the Times and the Daily Mail write.
The Arctic air is forecast to move through Russia and Ukraine and combine with the east wind. This will lead to the fact that in Kyiv and Kharkov at night the temperature will drop to -10 degrees, and probably even to -20 degrees.
“Russian troops, sitting in armored vehicles and tanks, stopped on the outskirts of Kyiv, may face freezing to death … The cold will further aggravate the difficult situation for the invaders …”, the article said.
Former British Army Major Kevin Price believes the invaders’ tanks will become “40-ton freezers”. The same opinion is shared by British military expert Glenn Grant. According to him, the tank becomes a refrigerator at night if the engine is not used. And the occupiers, in conditions of total fuel shortages, cannot afford this.
“If the convoy cannot move again, many Russian soldiers will be forced to surrender so as not to freeze to death,” the expert said.
