A tanker with Russian gas oil that was previously refused by port workers in Sweden is also not allowed in the port of Amsterdam. The trade union FNV Havens reports this to the NOS. The ship Sunny Liger sails under the flag of the Marshall Islands, but is controversial because of the cargo. Yesterday the ship set course for the port of the capital, but it is now also refused there.
“The ship may not enter the Amsterdam port. It must remain outside the lock and anchor there,” says a spokesperson for FNV Havens. The decision was taken together with the port workers, the spokesman said. On the website MarineTraffic can follow the Sunny Liger.
The parties involved will look further on Saturday morning, according to FNV.
The cabinet cannot do anything against the docking of the ship, because it does not sail under the Russian flag and the cargo is not subject to European sanctions.
