A runaway tanker truck has set fire to several houses and a street near New York. The truck loaded with almost 50,000 liters of fuel overturned on Wednesday night in the town of Rockville Center east of the metropolis, as local media reported. The driver of the car was reportedly injured, as were three of the firefighters who were called.
The emergency services got the fire, which raged in a liquor store and a furniture store, under control in the morning. The background to the incident initially remained unclear.
