Two tugs are trying to pull the crashed floating under the Croatian flag tanker in the Bosphorus. This was reported by Turkish media.
The preliminary cause of the accident is considered to be “damage to the tank engine”.
Earlier, the oil tanker incident halted traffic on the Bosphorus in Istanbul. According to the General Directorate of the Coast Guard, the 249-meter oil tanker on board has lost its speed and is began to drift uncontrollably to shore.
According to the Vessel finder portal, the tanker sailed on the route Novorossiysk – Cartagena.
Turkish authorities have not yet announced when traffic will resume across the Bosphorus.
