Tankayanki Procession for Sabarimala Ayyappan Mandala Puja 2023: Schedule and Details

Kojancherry: The procession with the tankayanki to be carried for Sabarimala Ayyappan Mandala Puja will leave from Aranmula Parthasarathy Temple at 7 am on Saturday.

The 451 Pawan Thangayanki was dedicated to Sabarimala by Srichithira Tirunal Balaramavarma, the King of Travancore, to be carried during the Mandal Pujavela.

The procession rests at Omallur Raktakanta Swamy Temple on Saturday night and will start again from here in the morning of 24th. At night Konni will rest at Muringamangalam temple. On 25th we will leave from here in the morning and rest at Perunad Shasta temple. The procession will start from Perunad on the morning of 26th and reach Pampa at 1.30 in the afternoon.

It will leave there at 3 pm and reach Saramkuthi by 5 pm. From here, the Devaswomboard officials and officials will ceremonially welcome the group and escort them to Sannidhanam. On reaching the Sopanam by climbing the 18th step, Tantri and Melshanti will receive the Thangayanki and place it on the Ayyappa idol and perform Deeparadhan at 6.30. Mandal pooja will be held on 27th at noon.

Seven men carry the ark

Seven people carry the casket containing the Tankayanki from Pampa to Sannidhanam. The Travancore Devaswomboard appointed Unnikrishnan for the pool, Pratapachandran Nair for the garden, Khalapat Vijayakumar, Panachikal Vineeth, Praveen Kumar for the garden, Deepu Nanthilapalli and Gopinathakurup for this purpose. In the previous years, the workers of the Ayyappa Seva Sangh used to bring the coffin to the Sannidhanam.
