– We didn’t know how to behave. This is 42 tons, a rather difficult topic to deal with – says the operator of the crane that lifted burned tanks on the A6 motorway. During the first attempt to lift the machine, one of the ropes to which the tank was attached broke. The works were completed only after several hours.

The accident on the A6 motorway in Szczecin took place on Saturday before 12.00 – During a military convoy, two tow trucks and platforms carrying tanks were collided. As a result of two tanks collapsed and caught fire – Ewelina Gryszpan from the City Police Headquarters in Szczecin informed.
–
The firefighters managed to put out the burning machines at around 12.20 pm on Saturday. However, it did not end there. The burned tanks and a tow truck had to be taken away. As it turned out, it was also a very difficult task.
–
– Stress, because we didn’t know how to take it. When we arrived, it turned out that the tank was half-tracked on a trailer. We didn’t know how to behave. This is 42 tons, a rather difficult topic to deal with – says operator Adam Kotowicz from MK Dźwigi Szczecin.
–
He adds that they had to “split” the tank from the tow truck and take another tank, which was almost vertical after the collision.
–
– We did not know how to behave, and the possibility was that if it fell, it could also fall off the viaduct – says the operator.

The first attempt to lift the crane was around 9pm on Saturday. One of the machines was hooked up, but when an attempt was made to lift it, one of the ropes broke. The tank rose a few centimeters, but fell. Nothing happened to anyone.
