The Mexican actress Tania Mendoza, best known for her role in the drug trafficking film “La Mera Reyna del Sur” (“La regina del sud”) was killed in gunshots in the state of Morelos while she was expecting her 11-year-old son after football training. The woman, 42 years old, was in the company of other parents in the city of Cuernavaca, expecting the child, when two armed men approached on motorcycles and one of them shot her several times before fleeing.

According to the Mexican media who spread the news this is the second attack on the actress who in September 2010 filed a complaint for the crimes of aggravated vehicle theft, home robbery and illegal deprivation of liberty committed against her, her partner Rafael Sánchez Rojas and their child. Mendoza it gained popularity in 2005 after the starring role in the film “Queen of the South”.
