Tangerang Regent Ahmed Zaki Iskandar react after the new road is cast so it’s destroyed because it is crossed by people and vehicles. Zaki said, during construction, roads should be guarded.
“The national road which is being repaired by the Ministry of PUPR should be maintained during construction,” Zaki said in a statement to detik.com, Saturday (1/10/2021).
Zaki said his party had reported the incident to the Ministry. The road will be repaired again.
“It has been reported to the implementer and the Ministry, just wait for the repairs,” he said.
Previously, a viral video on social media showed the newly cast road was crowded with residents and vehicles. The road castings that were still wet made the road crumble.
The video went viral since two days ago. It is known that the incident occurred on Jalan Raya Serang-Balaraja Km 24.5, Talagasari Village, Balaraja District, Tangerang Regency.
In the video, motorcyclists and car drivers are seen busy passing through the road. They passed on the freshly-cast road as if they were innocent.
Seen, the motorcyclists and car drivers desperate to pass even though the casting on the road is not yet dry. The road also looks damaged and visible marks from motorcycles and cars.
Congestion appears to have occurred around the location. Even a photo shows a number of pedestrians passing by. You can see the footprints on the road.
The head of the Tangerang Regency Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Department, Slamet Budi, admitted that he had received reports from residents regarding the incident. However, Slamet said that the road was a national road under the auspices of the Ministry of PUPR.
“Already (received reports from residents) from UPT friends also submitted reports, only that the work of the Ministry of PUPR’s National Road Hall. Not from the PUPR Office of Tangerang Regency,” said Slamet when asked for confirmation, Friday (1/10/2021).
